January 29th – That Day
I saw my best friend go
From cloud to yellow sun.
We bought lemons for life
For someone special now,
Planted the tree in the sun
And shade of a new home
Waiting to be filled with hearts
And empties, summers and winters
Waiting to record how
We laughed at insecurities
And cried at certainties that
Life is best savoured, life
Like a kiwi gold.
